Cinderella Dress Day is a joy filled day for hundreds of area ladies who are looking for their dream prom dress. Each year The Grand Wayne Convention Center is filled with young women who get to browse thousands of donated prom dresses and they get to take two (one long and one short) for FREE! In addition, they can choose their shoes, jewelry and accessories all provided by generous donors.
The amount of time and energy that is put into this event isn’t possible to calculate. It is exciting each year to watch the faces of the attendees as they find the dresses that make them feel like Cinderella. This year there were 648 girls who found their dream dresses at Cinderella Dress Day.
You may wonder who and how this event takes place every year. Cinderella Dress Day is held by the Fort Wayne Medical Society Alliance. This special group of women along with numerous volunteers and sponsors produce this event and make it look so seamless. Tonya Hughes, Jennifer Garrison & Kim Kajoika deserve the biggest accolades as they are the ones at the top who make it all happen. Thank you, ladies for your hard work year after year.
If you would like to donate your gently used prom dress for this event, you may drop it off at my studio during business hours or take it to any Peerless Cleaners and simply tell them it is a donation for Cinderella Dress Day.
