There are certain occasions that I look forward to every year and this is one of them. Cinderella Dress day is such a gift to our area. Every Spring, young women are gifted a beautiful prom dress, jewelry, shoes and so many other great things all in thanks to Fort Wayne Medical Alliance Society. They are a giving and caring group of women who want to bring light and love to the recipients of the dresses each year. This year 1850 women received their Cinderella dresses and felt like queens the whole day. It was a record breaking year for Cinderella Dress Day.
There will be a big change to the event next year. The location will be at the Memorial Coliseum instead of downtown Fort Wayne. It will be exciting to have an even bigger space for the thousands of dresses and ladies.
Huge thanks to Tonya Hughes, Jennifer Garrison and Kim Kajioka for having me each year. Looking back I am not even sure who made the connection for me to be part of it, but I am certainly grateful.
If you have any gently used prom dresses in your closet I am more than happy to take them off your hands for this event. The need for plus sized dresses is always greater. Please reach out to me if you would like to donate. I just might have to have another dress drive this year! Actually… that sounds kind of fun!
