Brandon and Mikala – Decatur, IN Wedding

Brandon and Mikala – Decatur, IN Wedding

You guys, this wedding was such a blast! The Bride and Groom, the families, the awesome wedding party… they all made it the best day. Everyone was having such a great time celebrating the Bride and Groom.

Allow me tell you about a couple of really great moments that happened throughout the day. One memorable moment was during the first look. The best man put on a wedding dress and dressed as ‘the Bride’. He tapped on Brandon’s shoulder and when Brandon turned around he was puzzled for one second and then burst into laughter. It really took the edge off of Brandon’s nerves. It was a good thing because Mikala was waiting in an adjacent area to see her groom for the first time.

Their wedding was on September 11th. As we all know this day is a part of American History. Brandon and Mikala chose to have a somber moment at the reception to honor America. Mikala is an EMT and many guests were also EMTs and members of the service as well as law enforcement. The DJ, Corey, spoke some words about September 11th and asked all of the Emergency personnel, service men and women and law enforcement to stand. Then as the American flag stood in the middle of the dance floor the crowd rose to their feet while the song, “Proud to be an American” played. It was touching.

In addition to the celebration, there were some very quiet moments throughout the day as well. Those photos are going to be saved just for the family to see. I know that Brandon and Mikala were missing loved ones on this day and they were remembered in a beautiful way. It was a honor to watch it unfold and truly touched me.

This is why I love this couple so much. They’re salt of the earth people!

I can’t thank you enough, Brandon and Mikala. You have been so great to work with.

Here are some of my favorites of your very beautiful wedding day.

Much Love,

Amy
